四季常綠，卻被稱為紅樹(shù)林！是因?yàn)榧t樹(shù)林植物體內(nèi)含有大量單寧，單寧在空氣中氧化，海水退潮之后，裸露在海面上的根系和枝干，卻呈現(xiàn)出連綿的紅褐色。 雖是植物，卻為“胎生”！動(dòng)物有卵生和“胎生”，胎生更是哺乳動(dòng)物的獨(dú)有的生育方式。紅樹(shù)林的種子在成熟后不脫離母體，而是在果實(shí)聶萌發(fā)并生根，在脫離母體后，能夠很快扎根泥土，并成為新的植株。 紅樹(shù)林生活在高熱度高鹽度的熱帶、亞熱帶海域，他們的根系大量盤(pán)繞，縱橫交錯(cuò)，一方面發(fā)達(dá)的根系能夠過(guò)濾掉海水的鹽分，另一方面，發(fā)達(dá)交錯(cuò)的根系，能夠抵御潮漲潮落，所以，盡管環(huán)境嚴(yán)酷，紅樹(shù)林卻生機(jī)盎然！ 紅樹(shù)林在整個(gè)地球上，面積雖小，但生態(tài)意義重大。紅樹(shù)林的儲(chǔ)碳能力是其他陸地植物的6倍，能夠?qū)⒋罅康奶寂欧?，封存在土壤中。紅樹(shù)的落葉，在發(fā)達(dá)的根系之中發(fā)酵腐爛，也成了淺水海域生態(tài)豐富的食物來(lái)源，讓整個(gè)紅樹(shù)林的物質(zhì)循序源源不斷。
 “紅樹(shù)林之美”是2021年美國(guó)科學(xué)無(wú)國(guó)界挑戰(zhàn)賽的主題，每年這項(xiàng)國(guó)際藝術(shù)競(jìng)賽對(duì)所有11-19歲的學(xué)生開(kāi)放，已經(jīng)成為在藝術(shù)與科學(xué)領(lǐng)域獨(dú)樹(shù)一幟的國(guó)際學(xué)術(shù)大賽?！緡?guó)際學(xué)生藝術(shù)】平臺(tái)連續(xù)幾年與大賽保持了良好的合作關(guān)系，并持續(xù)輸送了數(shù)百名學(xué)生參與，每年都會(huì)收獲好消息。 2021年科學(xué)無(wú)國(guó)界挑戰(zhàn)賽結(jié)果公布，由【國(guó)際學(xué)生藝術(shù)】送選的作品中，15-19 歲年齡組的張凱倩、11-14歲年齡組的郭思序、黃品堯同學(xué)的作品在全球63個(gè)國(guó)家眾多的選手競(jìng)爭(zhēng)中脫穎而出，被選中作為半決賽的入圍者，恭喜三位同學(xué)，也期待著收到其他同學(xué)更多精美的藝術(shù)作品。

The spirit of the tree

The magical mangroves have given birthto thousands of lives. The canopy is a transit point and gas station formigrating birds. Tree roots are ideal places for marine life to thrive. At thesame time, mangroves are also natural marine protection forests, naturalbarriers to inland, and even "coast guards" for mankind. Let usprotect the mangroves together and feel the beauty of creatures and themysteries of nature.

The Explanation for myPainting 

in the Topic of Mangrove Tree

In themiddle of the painting there is a mangrove tree, and at its left there arecouple other mangrove trees, in the water around their roots there are fishes.I think it’s not hard to see that thetrees and the fishes are personified. Mangrove trees are crying and shouting,and the middle-mangrove tree is holding a purple handkerchief. Why are theylooks so sad? Because except the main tree the rest of the trees aredisappearing, they forced to go away, and the disappearing trees are themiddle-tree’s family! The reasons which cause their vanishment, are us, humanbeings. Because we didn’t protect them well, thus, make them now disappearquickly, and I guess if now mangrove trees can talk and have hands, they mayhave this scene every day. The “damages”, the dark brown things on their tree trunks and roots are causedby pollution, all sorts of pollution, insects, diseases etc. again it’s because our lack of protection for them. The greenthings on their roots are seaweeds. In the water there have oil spill, abovethe water there are having air pollution which have an  evil-looking face with it. Above the water atright there is a people’s hand which has through a new garbage. The fishes havetheir own world and cities too. Under the water, the fishes who aredragging their colorful suitcase and wearing backpacks on their back are not ona vacation, they did this are because their home, the roots of the vanishingtrees are disappearing so they are forced to leave. The eight fishes (who areat the right top near the spilling oil and that “guarding fish”) are goingto work, basketball coach is coaching the young fishes in the clearing. Around that clearing there have asmall grocery, a mall (with “sell” and “fruit” sighs there) and a slide. Downto the right bottom corner there is a middle school with a library. It’s in themorning, the kids are going to the school, some were in the school bus, someare walking to school and some are in their own car. At the very bottom of thispainting there have a fish who is picking and clearing the rubbish. Also therehave lots of other people’s garbage and fishes’garbage, sadly the trashes harmed fishes a lot--there have a poor little fishwith a trash which traded its head made it wounded. At the left bottom corner,there was a gas station which is made by the old carpet and rusty iron pipes.

Not onlyin this painting has the “Mangrove trees are the home of fishes” and  “the Mangrove trees are polluted by us”, these two simple connections, butthere still have some other connections between the trees, fishes and people inthis painting. First one, this is the one I have already mentioned, and it isthe easiest one to comprehend, is that we are polluting the world and thisharmed the Mangrove trees and the fishes who had their homes around the trees.Second one, the fishes now are human beings, they are driving their shell-madecar, making their foods (this could form some smoke, people can think this is asmall factory), and throwing garbage everywhere, and if the people who watchthe painting closely they may see that there have smokes coming out from thefishes houses and cars, and there have a little fish near the gas station isthrowing the trashes. This meaning wants to show that we are polluting ourworld. Third one, this one have mixed the first two meaning to gather, thismeaning means, or what I want to show is that if we still harming our planetlike fishes harming their trees like what I have shown in this painting, oneday we will be forced to leave our lovely home, Earth, like the fishes wasforced to leave their home. What makes it even worse, is that if we pollutedthe world badly and the day we need to leave our home in not very distant infuture, and if that day come we didn’t have the ability to leave this planet wewill become extinct in the universe. Not one want this happen, so at last Iwant to say that we must doing something we to make this world have lesspollution. This is what my painting wants to show, thanks.

《 Living in mangroves 》

In order to protect the globalecological environment, we must deeply understand the importance of mangrovesto human survival. How can we survive and develop with mangroves in the future?Not only to encourage people of all ages to understand the well-being ofmangroves to the earth, but also to protect it while truly using the servicesthat mangroves can provide, such as observing its biological nature, readingrelated books, trying fishing and boating and other entertainment, so that morepeople can participate in the planning and construction of mangroves.
